Don't be a hater, be a creator

We've all been there, we all were at one point tested by negative feelings. Maybe it was in the form of frustration, anger, envy or really any of the seven deadly sins, right?

I won't talk from books because I strongly believe that it is way better to share your personal experiences on any given subject. So here I am confessing to the world that I too had to fight a ton of negative feelings and the war is not over yet.

Sometimes life can be really stressful, especially when you have high expectations. As an idealist I can say that when things don't go the way I think that they should go I feel disappointed.

But that's stupid of me. I need to focus on the positive aspect of any negative experience.

Things don't always happen like we expect them to because they are not meant to happen that way. We can think at that moment that it's a bad thing but it's only later when we realize that it was all for the best.

No good can come out of negative emotions. They drain you. They make you feel unhappy. Been there, done that. Why? Because I am not perfect, no one is. We are all here on this Earth to learn some lessons. We can't learn any lessons if it's all just sunshine and butterflies. No. We need challenges in our lives. We need hard times. That way we can see how strong we really are. If you are capable of surviving the bad times you will also feel the most intense happiness in the good times.

There is absolutely no need to waste precious energy on hating, on pointless revenge or other horrible things in that category. Why would you destroy something when you can create.

Creating is so much better, it's beautiful. If you have negative emotions why not use them in a creative way? Poetry, painting, writing or any other form of art.

Not all art has to be all about happiness and pretty things. It can be about darkness, sadness. Those are feelings that need to be experienced too.

It is said that Heaven gets its light from the flames of Hell. So there is really no other way to know good without evil. But the choice is yours in the end. And why not choose good when everyone else seems to be lost in the shadows? Maybe through the power of example you can inspire someone else to choose a path of unconditional love and happiness.

I am not saying that it is going to be easy to do the right thing and to always keep a smile on your face no matter the situation but it will surely be worth it.

Do we want to live in a world full of misery and hate? Of course not! I know I don't. So what can we do about it?

We can begin by being honest with ourselves, to brake these chains that society and the media has put on us, to free our mind and our spirit and to start creating beautiful things that inspire others to do the same.

We need to do what we were meant to do. I am convinced that we are not here to follow these same patterns " school-work-marriage-retirement-death". No, there is more to life than just that.

If you really have to go to school, concentrate on the subjects you enjoy, if you need to have a career, make a career out of what you love doing, if you want a marriage, marry out of love not for material interest or out of the fear of aging alone, if you retire don't be a bitter old man/woman who constantly finds only flaws in the young ones but share what you have learned from experience and when you die, die with a smile on your face knowing that you were free and you did what your spirit wanted you to do.

  1. Great post. I agree that negative emotions can be used as motivation, as long as you don't let them consume you, express them and move on.
